After last weeks opening episode of Gladiators I wasn't sure if it was any good but I think the show is getting better after watching the second show, although I still think they should replace the commentator.
What made me laugh was that the winner of the men was complete rubbish and has yet made it through. I am looking forward to seeing how bad he will be in the quarter finals and hope he has to do the gauntlet because that should be funny to see.
Gladiators has certainly made it to my regular Sunday night viewing and with less than an hour before NCIS season 5 starts on FX, it should be a good night in front of the box.

The Gladiators Are Back!!!
So the Gladiators are back.
I wasn't sure what to expect when it started and although the show had some poor points overall it wasn't too bad.
The set itself has changed a bit, to be expected with a new studio, it now resembles American Gladiators more, with the smaller audience. Sky were obviously looking for ways to save money on the set, as it looks like more like an all-in-one set, which makes it easier to setup for the different games.
Kirsty and Ian look like the right choice for the job, both are good presenters and they work quite well together.
Still haven't made my mind up yet about the Gladiators themselves yet, the men are noticeably smaller than the original Gladiators. There are certainly a few fox's among he women.
The biggest thing wrong with Gladiators, in my opinion, is the voice over guy. He is by far the worst choice for the job, that is something they will have to change in the future.
But I am looking forward to next weeks episode, which means there will be a good television line up on a Sunday evening, as NCIS Series 5 starts on FX.
P.S. Did anybody notice that the guy in the Wii sponsored by Ads, between the show and the main adverts, is Saracen from the original Gladiators? Looking forward to seeing him on Gladiators - The Legends

Council Muppets
I love how incompetent my housing office is.
Last year I had an arrears balance on my rent account, so I setup a direct debit to pay the rent and the arrears. At the time of setting it up, it was agreed to pay extra each month to clear the back rent and once cleared the direct debit will reduce down to it's normal level.
Fast forward to earlier this year, I had cleared the arrears but they still took out the rent plus the extra I was paying. There wasn't much I could do at the time as I was in India with work, but wasn't to worried as I knew that it just meant the rent was paid up a bit further in advance.
When I came back from India, I decided to change the account the rent was taken from, as I had setup a separate account just for my bills and the rent was the only thing still being taken from the original account. At the same time, it meant I could get my credit balance lowered as it would mean no money being taken in April.
So I cancelled the direct debit and waited for the payment date to pass and went back down the housing office and set the direct debit back up and left the rent money in the new account ready for them to take the payment.
Now, I was expecting the payment to be taken on Tuesday (Due to the bank holiday) but yesterday I received a letter from the housing house saying that they will be making a home visit on Tuesday because of unpaid rent, because although the direct debit is setup again they won't be taking a payment until June and that it is not acceptable not to pay anything in the meantime.
This just made me laugh because there I am with the money sitting in the bank account waiting for them to take it, which they won't because someone cocked up and set it up for June, the hadn't even sent me a letter confirming it was set up and when the money would be taken.
So instead of sending a letter saying that the direct debit was setup for June and that they will need me to make a manual payment to cover May, they are going to waste their time and money making a home visit for when I am in work.
So the first thing I did after reading the letter was to log online and make the payment, matter resolved as far as I am concerned. I hope that the weather is nice for when they make there wasted visit.
I do wonder what their next cock up will be!!!

Duties of Wives
Three men were sitting together bragging about how they had given their new wives duties.
Terry had married a woman from America, and bragged that he had told his wife she needed to do all the dishes and housework. He said that it took a couple days but on the third day he came home to a clean house and the dishes were all washed and put away.
Jimmie had married a woman from Canada. He bragged that he had given his wife orders that she was to do all the cleaning, dishes, and the cooking. He told them that the first day he didn't see any results, but the next day it was better. By the third day, his house was clean, the dishes were done, and he had a huge dinner on the table.
The third man had married a Welsh girl. He boasted that he told her that her duties were to keep the house cleaned, dishes washed, laundry and ironing twice a week, lawns mowed, windows cleaned and hot meals on the table for every meal. He said the first day he didn't see anything, the second day he didn't see anything, but by the third day most of the swelling had gone down and he could see a little out of his left eye, just enough to fix himself a bite to eat, load the dishwasher, and call a handyman.
